Might be a combination of the handheld aspect and the blade. The XP4 came stock with my DeWalt tile saw. It didn't impress me. You might want to try a higher quality blade. The problem is that most of those are geared towards wet use, thus shortening their useful life in your application. For longer cuts, you'll get better results with an actual wet saw with a table or a high-quality diamond snap cutter. I only ever used my grinder when doing special cuts (such as circular cuts for openings etc.). You might want to be careful about protecting your lungs when you dry-cut.
