How many ways are there to move the cathode in a plating tank?

There are two main types of cathode moving methods in electroplating tank, namely, continuous moving and intermittent moving.
I. Continuous movement
Continuous movement refers to the continuous and smooth movement of the cathode in the electrolytic bath. This method is usually applied to longer electroplating tanks with linear control. The principle is to control the movement of the cathode in the horizontal direction through a transmission device in the tank, so as to realise the smooth passage of the cathode through the electrolytic bath and ensure the uniform coverage of the cathode by the plating solution to ensure the quality of the workpiece.
Intermittent movement
Intermittent movement refers to the intermittent and periodic movement of the cathode during the electrolysis process. This method is usually used for the preparation of small parts or plate-like workpiece plating. The principle is to move the cathode horizontally or vertically according to a specific time, distance and speed by means of a specific mechanism or system, so as to achieve uniformity of the plating solution and to avoid the effect of localised electrodeposition.
In addition, by means of intermittent movement, it is possible to change the colour of the plated layer, which facilitates the preparation of a wide range of different plated layers. The cycle time, speed and distance of intermittent movement are related to the material and shape of the workpiece, and need to be selected and designed according to the actual needs.
[Summary
Plating tank cathode moving mode mainly has two kinds of continuous and intermittent movement. Continuous movement is used to prepare long parts or plates, while intermittent movement is suitable for small parts and can change the colour of the plated layer. Choosing the appropriate cathode moving method can improve the plating quality, at the same time, need to choose and design according to the actual situation.
